Tronador Mount is a geologically active volcanno. The name of the mount is given by the thundering sound produced by the frequent detachments and falls of huge blocks of ice coming down from its glaziers at the top. Tronador Mount boasts seven glaziers, some of which can be seen during the excursion.
It is a full day trip. We leave the city of Bariloche to the south by the route known as 40, bordering Gutierrez and Mascardi lakes, and being a tour to admire the scenery.
To the right of the path we enter a gravel road and ventured into the middlee of the Patagonian forest, stopping at various vantage point to observe the beauty of the place. We cross a bridge over the Rio Manso that allows us access to the camping "Los Rapidos" kilometers later to Pampa Linda, where we rest and where we will find alternatives for lunch.
From there we cross lenga and coihue forest to admire glacier know as Ventisquero Negro or Glacier Manso, a place for silence and enjoy the sounds that nature gives us.
We continue our tour reaching the base of Tronador, we find a tearoom and can enjoy some free time until our return.
